Exciting Opportunity for a Process Control Engineer!
Are you an experienced Process Control Engineer looking to take your career to the next level? Join us at the forefront of innovation as we design and implement cutting-edge control systems that optimise production, improve quality, and ensure system reliability. If you're passionate about process optimisation, system integration, and continuous improvement, we want to hear from you!
What You'll Be Doing:
As a Process Control Engineer, you'll be responsible for creating and optimising control systems that drive efficiency, reliability, and safety across our operations. Here’s what you’ll be tackling in your new role:
- Design & Implementation of Control Systems: Develop and implement advanced process control strategies to enhance production, quality, and system reliability across our operations.
- Compliance with Open Process Automation Standards (OPAS): Leverage your knowledge of OPAS to design and deploy open, interoperable, and secure control systems. You'll advocate for the adoption of OPAS standards to build flexible and modular control architectures that are future-ready.
- Process Optimisation: Dive into production data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement. You’ll implement control solutions that drive better overall process performance and productivity.
- System Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate new process control systems with existing equipment. Your focus will be on interoperability, scalability, and ensuring our automation infrastructure is future-proof.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Provide technical expertise to resolve process control issues quickly and effectively, minimising downtime. You'll also play a key role in ensuring the reliability of our systems and their compliance with safety standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay ahead of the curve by exploring new automation technologies, process control innovations, and best practices to continuously improve the quality and capabilities of our control systems.
- Documentation & Training: Prepare comprehensive technical documentation and provide training to operations and maintenance teams, ensuring the safe and efficient use of control systems throughout the organisation.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking a Process Control Engineer who brings both technical expertise and a passion for innovation. Here’s what you’ll need to succeed in this role:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in process control engineering, ideally within industrial environments like manufacturing, chemical, or energy sectors.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems, and experience with advanced process control (APC) technologies. You should also be familiar with industrial communication protocols like OPC, Ethernet/IP, and Modbus.
- Problem-Solving Ability: You’ll need strong analytical skills to interpret complex data and implement solutions that optimize processes.
- Cybersecurity Awareness: Knowledge of cybersecurity standards and practices for industrial control systems is a must.
Personal Attributes:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of leading teams and collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, with a strong commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- You have a positive, growth mindset. You are humble enough to recognize when you’re not succeeding, and you find ways to change your behaviour.
- An uncanny ability to quickly adapt to new situations, people, and ways of working. You don’t settle for being comfortable and seek accelerated growth. You have a fearless approach to learning new skills and are unafraid to fail.
- You must have a strong ability to listen to perspectives other than your own and to argue ideas clearly, concisely, and constructively.
- A strong ability to solve technical and non-technical problems and acrobat-like skills in effectively resolving conflicts with grace and a pinch of humour.
- A healthy dose of impatience while being positive and collaborative, and the ability to make decisions and take action with limited information.
Bonus Points for These:
- Familiarity with Open Process Automation Standards (OPAS) and their role in building flexible, interoperable control systems.
- Relevant certifications in process automation or control systems (e.g., ISA or OPC certification).
- Experience with model-based control and simulation software.
- Knowledge of safety instrumented systems (SIS) and relevant safety standards, like IEC 61511.
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary.
- Stock option program participation.
- Private healthcare insurance.
- Annual training and development budget.
- Annual wellness budget.
- Unlimited days paid vacation.
- Up to 6 months of compensated parental leave.
